Entering Week 3 at Rocky View General

It has been a challenging 2 weeks at Rocky View General, with many ups and downs, but after 14 days of 24hr TPN intravenous treatment, Cam is now being transitioned to 16hrs on/8 hrs off of TPN, with the start of Nasal Drip feeding tube into the stomach soon. The latest ultra sound showed little Chylous Ascites present, and further testing will reveal more details of this treatment. We believe and feel it is working and are so grateful to be getting this breakthrough treatment, that is both controversial and challenging. Thank-you all for your positive thoughts and hopefully Cam will be back on his feet again soon!

Hi folks!  For those who may be wondering what's up lately, it's another hospital visit!  There has been lymph fluid build up in the abdomen since the major operation last year, which causes swelling and a variety of painful or discomforting complications.  The medical term is chylous ascites.  Over the past few months the plan has been a food restriction designed to reduce lymph fluid flow and give them a chance to heal.  Unfortunately this hasn't worked, so the next escalated step is TPN, or total parenteral nutrition.  This means being fed by IV and eating nothing for up to four weeks.  Hopefully though, it won't last much longer than another week or so.  Thanks for all the support!
