Junior Squash Program: Welcome Game

Working with children on the squash court is both fun and energizing! We can work with children and youth to both help inspire the younger generation to play squash, and to work on our own technique!
When working with a large group of children (any age) a great 'ice breaker' maybe a simple 'Name Game!'
  1.  Everyone has a racquet, only 1 ball (squash ball/foam ball)
  2. Stand in a large enough circle that you can move your racquet safely from side to side
  3.  Use the racquets to carefully pass the ball around the circle
  •  While passing everyone says their name (favourite food, age, favourite movie etc.) There are a few variations:
  1. Balance the ball on your racquet, then roll it onto the next person's racquet
  2. All step back to expand the circle; bounce the ball on your racquet and then bounce pass it to the next person's racquet
  3. Back up a little further; bounce the ball on your own racquet then say the name of a friend as you bounce pass it in the air across to them
*You will discover this is more about small controlled bounces and encourages teamwork.
