When working with a large group of children (any age) a great 'ice breaker' maybe a simple 'Name Game!'
- Everyone has a racquet, only 1 ball (squash ball/foam ball)
- Stand in a large enough circle that you can move your racquet safely from side to side
- Use the racquets to carefully pass the ball around the circle
- While passing everyone says their name (favourite food, age, favourite movie etc.) There are a few variations:
- Balance the ball on your racquet, then roll it onto the next person's racquet
- All step back to expand the circle; bounce the ball on your racquet and then bounce pass it to the next person's racquet
- Back up a little further; bounce the ball on your own racquet then say the name of a friend as you bounce pass it in the air across to them
