Winter in July Joe Hattori Memorial Squash Tournament Results

This year's Winter in July Joe Hattori Memorial Fundraiser Squash Tournament was yet another success. While it was a scorching 34 degrees in the Okanagan Valley, the 37 participants worked hard on the squash courts playing over 90 competitive matches in: Men's Open/A, B, C/D and Women's C/D categories! The tournament commenced on Friday, July 11 with Final Matches and prize ceremony on Sunday afternoon. Saturday was an action packed day, with matches, outdoor BBQ and live musical entertainment by two local bands, Bansais and Hippiecritz! The greatest highlight of the event was the overwhelming contributions to the Silent Auction 2020 Fundraiser.   

Through the generous donations of several local businesses and private donors, as well as the contributions of our squash players, this year's WIJ Joe Hattori Memorial Fundraiser  raised $1,627 towards the Vancouver Foundation's 2020 Fund! An inspiring event, as we support Joe Hattori's legacy of bringing squash to young people. We hope to see everyone back next year!
